Regardless of where and what has taken place over this time
I have always been drawn back to a true love of Design and Craft.

Over the next few days I will start puting something together and start blogging.
I will try and start making time to commit to this yearning of putting Myself

My Sewing Room

I Thought I would share with you my Sewing Room.
It is a place where I escape to and create my designs.
It is also a place where I just sit and ponder on my thoughts or play with my Buttons, Lace and Fabrics without creating anything but a Mess.
Some days I go about my business and am constantly interupted by one of my cats, but I should not complain as I am lucky to have such a place to escape to.

Some of my Favourite Things
                                               Pin Cushions

                                            My Maddy Dolls

New Year

Another Year has passed and a New one beginning
I wonder what this year has in store for me????
More challenges I guess as every year has those.
On New Years day I woke to find all the stations on my TV not working fixed that problem and then found the radio was the same. Spooky.... I also blew up my washing machine so am now washing by hand. That is what I would say is a start to the new year with challenges.

I do hope my whole year does bring me some blessings.

My New Years Resaloution was to get more done on the design side of things as well as sort my clutter out.
So far I haven't done either....
Oh well it is only early in the year plenty of time....
Yeah right it will be Easter before we know it...

Christmas

Merry Christmas
Another Year has gone by and it's Chrismas again.
It's a Magical time, when homes are glisstening with Tinsel and sparkling lights, it's a time when kitchens are laden with the aroma of spices and sweets. Friends sending special greetings and children filled with excitement.
Christmas is a time when Friends and Family come together baking cakes and making decorations, it is also a time to appreciate what we each have and to give thought of the less fortunate and give a little extra to make someone elses Christmas a little joyous.
Christmas is a time when Tradition is at it's most.

Merry Christmas Everyone
And
Have a Safe New Year
Luv Janelle

HEIRLOOMS

HEIRLOOMS
A Tribute to the Treasured Memories of Yester Year.
With a Heart for the Precioous History of each Collectable, Heirlooms may be rare to find so make your own special kind. Its the smallest touches that change the mood & make all the difference. There is something very theropudic about the simple act of sewing.

In Times Gone By when Handstitching was the Order of the Day, Exquiset Linens or the finest Laces were produced to Adorn both Home & Person. The Legacy that was left to us Precious Fragments of the Past. Frayed Petticoats, Ribbon Roses, Crochet Edged Bed & Table Linens. The Marriage of Pratical with the Beautiful is apparent with the Handcrafts of those who Laboured for hours with Needle & Thread, embellishing Linen, Silk, Velvet & Satin.

The most Adventurous of Style Trends is Exemplified by Creative Recycling of Vintage Objects Transformed into Treasures we enjoy Today.

Heirlooms are Cherished Pieces Handed down through the Family, from Handmade Quilts, Christening Gown, Babies Shawl, First Teddy or Doll to Photographs. Irraplacable, Priceless Treasure of our Past.

We all Love to Create our own Family Heirlooms, gathering Elements from another Era & begin an Exciting Journey of Discovery for many such Treasures Evoke Feelings of Nostalgia, bring back Memories of things we keep close to our Hearts in this changing World, where Styles & Customs come & go.

Lets Reflect on Traditions which are forever Etched in our Thoughts, hoping they will be Treasured by our Children & Grandchildren in years to come.
